Today is the day I have been waiting for, for a while. Today the applications for Shambhala volunteers has become available! Ever since attending Shambhala in 2009, Justin and I have wanted to go back and volunteer one year. Shambhala is an electronic music festival the happens every year in Salmo, BC. With 6 different themed stages, an outstanding variety of ethinc foods, and hours worth of shopping all on one ranch, Shambhala is a unique experience. A 10,000 person party in the Oakanagan is something you have to see to believe. Attending is one thing, but to give back so others can experience this phenomenal vibe is something completely different. To be part of a group that is responsible for an amazing event like this is worth the work. Hopefully we will hear back in the next few weeks if we are accepted!
As well, today I pushed myself hard at the gym, harder than I have since I started this year! I have upped my biking, running, and jump rope, as well as adding the eliptical! Its amazing how hard you can actually give 'er when you push yourself! I have also been looking to try something new, and I have come across Kwest Kickboxing. Kwest is located at the River Osbourne Community Center, and has a class for beginners that looks pretty good. I can't afford much, but $50 for one hour long class a week doesn't seem to bad!
On a completely different subject, I would also like to mention how proud Justin and I are of Ziggy. Ziggy has received and internship with Shaw, I believe, and seeing him today on Urban Rush, it is hard to believe how grown up he is and how much he has accomplished and he's not even graduated high school!! Keep up the good work Zig! We know you are gonna go far!
